The National Geographic Family Reference Atlas of the World describes Asia as follows:
"Geographic extremes allow Asia to claim many world records. Mount Everest, manarch of the Himalaya, is the planet's highest point at 29,035 feet (8,850 m). The super-salty Dead Sea lies 1,365 feet (416 m) below sea level - the lowest point."
