Notable persons at this site include:
Michael Patrick Coogan (1835-1885), who emigrated from Monaghan, IRELAND, to Kingston, NY, in the early 1850s. He worked as a brewer for a few years before becoming a stonecutter in the quarries near the town of Hurley, NY.
Michael's son, Patrick H. Coogan (1858-1896), who served as an Alderman for the City of Kingston from 1889-1890. He was a brewer by trade - he owned a bottling company where the whole family was employed.
Michael's sons,
Thomas Joseph Coogan (1863-1921) and James H. Coogan (1867-1902), who worked as stonecutters on the State Capitol Building in Albany, NY.
