Notable persons at this site include:
 Patrick Joseph Coogan (1828-1872), who emigrated from Monaghan, IRELAND, to Kingston, NY, in the late 1840s. He ran the Coogan Hotel at 13 North Front Street, employing most of his siblings until his death.
Patrick's son, Patrick Joseph Coogan JR (1855-1903), who moved his family to Brooklyn, NY, in 1876. He was a machinist, with a possible connection to the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge.
Patrick's grandson, William Joseph McClimont (1901-1969), who was a Roman Catholic Priest of the Vincentian Order. His missionary service in Kanchow, China (c.1925-1937) brought great pride to the Coogan family.
Patrick's grandson, William Joseph Coogan (1892-1923), a decorated veteran of World War I and a well known surgeon in the New York City area.
William's son, John Richard Coogan (1923-1951), a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was killed in action in October 1951.
William's son, Robert Francis Coogan (1924-1996), a prominent New York City lawyer. He was also a war veteran, serving in the US Army Air Corps over Europe during World War II.
