OWEN COOGAN - Special to the Herald Statesman - BRONXVILLE. Sept. 18 - Mrs. Nannie P. Coogan of 18 Plateau Circle died yesterday at her home after a year's Illness. She was born in Pittsfleld, Mass., May 8, 1881, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry R. Pierson, and attended Miss Hall's School in that city. She was married to Owen Coogan at Pittsfleld on April 2, 1913, and came to Bronxville with him 18 years ago. Mr. Coogan, a former Eastchester Republican chairman, died in 1934. Mrs. Coogan was a member of the Women's Club, the Women's Exchange and the Women's Society of the Bronxville Reformed Church. She is survived by a son, Henry P. Coogan, and a daughter, Miss Patricia Coogan, both of Bronxville. Funeral services will be held at the home Saturday at 10 A. M., with the Rev. John Henderson Powell, Jr. of the Bronxville Reformed Church officiating. Interment will be at Pittsfield. 30 AUG 1944 - ["Herald Statesman" - PAGE 2 ?] PETER FRANCIS COOGAN - Engineer At Research Institute - Peter Francis Coogan, stationary engineer at the Boyce Thompson Institute for Plant Research, Inc. since its inception, died of a heart attack this morning at his home, 28 Railroad Avenue. He was fifty- two years old. Born and educated In Hastings-on-Hudson, he came to Yonkers 20 years ago, when he took charge of the heating plant at the research institute here. Mr. Coogan is survived by his wife, the former Minnie Langhorst; one daughter, Miss Anne Coogan; three sons, Peter Francis Coogan. EDWARD P. COOGAN - Many Years In Yonkers - Mrs. Alice T. Coogan, 74, of 163 Palisade Ave., wife of Edward P. Coogan, died unexpectedly yesterday at her home. Born May 7, 1888, in New York City, she was brought to Yonkers as an infant by her parents, the late Thomas and Nora Ormond Humphrey. She attended St. Joseph's School and was married at St. Joseph's Church in 1918. She was a parishioner of St. Margaret's Church. Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Miss Ellen Irene Coogan of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Mrs. William (Loretta) Smith of Harrison; three sons, Edward P. Jr., Joseph F. Coogan, 66, of 1 Ravensdale Road, Hastings-on-Hudson, died yesterday at his home after a long illness. He was with the Harshaw Chemical Company in Hastings. Born May 19, 1898, a son of the late James P. and Ellen McDonnell Coogan, he was a lifelong resident of Hastings. He attended the Hastings School and served with the Navy overseas during World War I. On Sept. 19, 1936, he married the former Frances Feury, who survives. Mr. Coogan was a member of the James Daly Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a charter member of the Hastings Social Club. He was a parishioner of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church. Surviving besides his wife are a sister, Miss Lucy I. Coogan, and a brother, James J. Coogan, both of the home address. Another brother, Edward P. Coogan of Yonkers, died May 23, 1964. 21 JAN 1967 - ["Herald Statesman" - PAGE 2] FRANCES COOGAN - Frances Coogan of 1 Ravensdale Road, Hastings, died at her home yesterday after a brief illness. She was 67. Born August 13, 1899, in Creek Locks, New York, she was a daughter of the late William and Ellen Riely Feury. On September 19, 1936, she was married to the late John A. Coogan at St. Matthews Church in Hastings. Mr. Coogan died in March, 1965. Mrs. Coogan had lived in Hastings since early childhood and was a graduate of Hastings High School, and a communicant of St. Matthews Church. Prior to her marriage she was employed as a secretary at the Royal Insurance Co. of New York City. She is survived by a sister, Miss Elizabeth Feury of Hastings. 29 JAN 1968 - ["Herald Statesman" - PAGE 2] JAMES J. COOGAN - James J. Coogan, 81, of 1 Ravensdale Road, Hastings-on-Hudson, died Sunday at the Dobbs Ferry Hospital after a brief illness. He was born Aug. 21, 1886, to James P. and Ellen (McDonnell) Coogan in Hastings-on-Hudson, where he attended public schools. Mr. Coogan was attendance officer for the Hastings public schools for 35 years, and retired in 1957. He was a communicant of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church in Hastings-on-Hudson.
