She was born August 14, 1933 in Utica, daughter of the late James and Fedwa Casper. Dolores graduated from T. P. Proctor High School in 1951. She worked as a secretary for General Electric where she met and married William P. Cougan. William passed away in 1986. During her children's younger years, she was a stay at home Mom. She was always there for her family; morning, noon and night. She later worked part-time at a family store, "Oneida Grocery." She moved on to become a Math Aide in the Utica School System, where she not only taught her students math skills but also gave them love that many didn't get at home. She retired in 1999, Dolores loved life. Throughout her life, she was very active as a wife, mother, grandmother and an outdoor enthusiast. She was an active "Room Mother" and "Scout Mom" where she volunteered in order to spend time with her kids. She was very athletic, even through her illnesses. Up until the current year, she biked, hiked, downhill and cross country skied, canoed and kayaked. It wasn't unusual for her to do a strenuous hike or bicycle 30 miles or more in a day. After the loss of her husband, she joined the "Tramp & Trail" club and soon found herself part of a wonderful extended family of friends. Through her outdoor activities, she met Ray Morse, whom she married on October 12, 2002. Ray became her guardian angel. She was loved by all. She made friends with people of all ages and walks of life. If the number of friends a person has is a measure of one's life, she lived life to the fullest. She was always very close to God. She absolutely adored and lived for her grandchildren. She taught them, loved them and spoiled them. She was happiest when she was with them and so very proud to ski with them.
