Born in Manhattan, Miss Coogan was brought to Graniteville at the age of 3. She moved to Bulls Head four months ago. For the past two years, Miss Coogan worked as a travel agent with U.S. Travel in Manhattan. She also worked as a waitress at Perkins Cake and Steak, Graniteville, for four years. She attended Curtis High School and received a general equivalency diploma. She was working toward a bachelor's degree at the College of Staten Island. Surviving are her son, James Kenneth Farless; her parents, Kenneth and Mary Coogan; her companion, James Farless; her grandmother, Eloise Sorensen, and two brothers, Allen Prockett and Kenneth Coogan Jr. The funeral will be tomorrow from the Meislohn-Silvie Funeral Home, Port Richmond, with a mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sylvester's R.C. Church, Concord. Burial will follow in Rose Dale Cemetery, Linden, N.J. 16 MAR 1993 - "Obits" [PAGE A11] ELOISE SORENSEN, 70, RETIRED DIETARY AIDE - Eloise M. Coogan Sorensen, 70, of West Brighton, a retired dietary aide, died yesterday in Doctors' Hospital. Born Eloise Tootill in Derby, Conn., she moved to Manhattan in the 1920s, and settled in West Brighton in 1953. She worked as a dietary aide at St. Vincent's Medical Center, retiring in 1961. Mrs. Sorensen enjoyed gardening. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, West Brighton. Her husband, Eilert Sorensen, died in 1976. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth and Bernard Coogan ; three daughters, Lorraine Sorensen Buthorn, Joyce Liskowski and Patricia Wepirn; 10 grand- children, and a great-grandson. The funeral will be Thursday from the Harmon Home for Funerals, West Brighton, with a mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Huguenot. Coogan, 64, of Edison, N.J., a retired city police officer and restaurant owner, died Saturday in St. Peter's Medical Center, New Brunswick, N.J. Born in Brooklyn, he moved with family to West Brighton as a boy and graduated from McKee High School. He settled in Huguenot in 1973 and lived there until 1999, when he relocated to Edison. Mr. Coogan was a city police officer for 10 years, retiring in 1975. He loved the food business and restaurants, and in the late 1970s owned Davey Jones Locker, an eatery in Eatontown, N.J. While on the Island, he was a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Huguenot. Mr. Coogan is survived by his wife of 39 years, the former Margaret Aitken; his son, Darren; his daughter, Kelli Kastinbrakis; two brothers, Edward and Kenny; two sisters, Joyce and Lorraine, and three grandchildren. The funeral service was scheduled for this evening at 8:45 p.m. in the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, Woodbridge, N.J.
