He died of complications of a stroke Tuesday at the Hemet Valley HealthCare Center. Inland Memorial Mortuary in Hemet is handling arrangements. Mr. Coogan, who was born in Madison, N.J., lived in Hemet for 20 years. He owned Coogan and Sons, a landscaping firm in Westminster. He served in the U. S. Army Air Forces during World War II and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He is survived by his wife, Frances; two sons, Michael of Vancouver, Wash., and David of Kenwood; a daughter, Vicki Svatos of Rosamond; 10 grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; two brothers, Richard of Los Angeles and David of New Jersey; and a sister, Patricia Lindsley of New York. 30 AUG 2005 (incomplete) COOGAN, ANNA - Passed away at her home in Hemet on June 30, 2005. She was the daughter of Nick Bozanich and Sophie Rajacich born on... 13 OCT 2005 COOGAN, JOSEPHINE - Passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on October 10, 2005 at home in Riverside, California. Josephine was born on June 6, 1930 in Grand Terrace, California. She grew up in Grand Terrance and graduated from Colton High School and completed her education at San Bernardino Valley College. She met and married Jack Coogan of Riverside on August 20, 1949. After Jack's military service was completed they returned to Riverside to reside. Josephine worked for Pacific Bell Telephone Company for 10 years prior to working in Poly High School for 25 years. Josephine enjoyed life tremendously taking great pleasure in family and friends. Her great spirit of adventure took her traveling the United States with Jack on their motorcycle. She also loved flying in their airplane. She and Jack also spent many hours at the beach with their daughter, Colleen. Josephine touched the lives and hearts of many and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband, Jack and daughter, Colleen and sister Anita Banks of San Diego. Services will be held Friday, October 14, 2005, 1:00 P.M. at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary in Riverside, California. Interment at Crestlawn Memorial Park. He joins Josephine, his beloved wife of 56 years, following a long and courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. A lifelong Riverside resident, graduate of the Riverside Polytechnic High School, class of 1947, and proud veteran of The United States Navy, Jack lived life to its fullest. He made many friends as sales manager of Rubidoux Motors and also during his 52 year membership to the Riverside BPO Elks. Jack's real passions, however, were motorcycles and flying! Jack and Josephine enjoyed touring the country with friends on their motorcycle. An accomplished pilot, he was a member of the prestigious quiet Birdman Aviation Club and the Bonanza Society. Jack is survived by his daughter, Colleen Coogan of Huntington Beach, CA; brother, Harold Coogan of Dixon, CA; cousins Bob Dickerson, Dee Dickerson, Pat Harrison, and Francis Anderson of Riverside. Viewing for Jack Coogan will be Thursday, October 2nd, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary, located at 7944 Magnolia Ave., Riverside. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, October 3rd. Interment will be held at Crestlawn Memorial Park at 1:00 p.m. followed by a private memorial for friends and family.
