She met and married David Bruce Sperbeck in Utica, NY and then moved to Miami, FL where they raised and loved their four children. She sang in the choir at Shenendoah Presbyterian for many years. She always had a sunny disposition and a great passion for camping, gardening, astronomy and nature. She was a Girl Scout leader and worked at Girl Scout camps for many years. Her pleasant personality and organizational skills led to her be part owner of General Oceanics in Miami, FL. Jean is survived by 1 of her 2 brothers and her 4 children: Ralph Coogan (brother), Jean Sperbeck (daughter), James Sperbeck (son), Barbara Sperbeck (daughter), and Susan Sperbeck (daughter). Virginia was born in Birmingham, AL, on October 1st, 1926. She moved to her beloved city of Miami in 1952. Virginia worked for AT&T as a customer service rep until she met her future husband of 53 years, John Coogan. Virginia is survived by her three sons; Daniel, David and James, and grand children; Jessica, Danielle, Bradley, Jared and Stevenson. Due to her love for the ocean, her ashes will be spread at sea.
