CALEB COOGAN (2005 - 2017) - Mt. Pulaski, IL — Caleb Coogan, 12, of 
Mt. Pulaski died in an off-road vehicle accident on September 6, 
2017. He precedes his grand-parents, Jim-Boy and Judy Coogan of Mt. 
Pulaski, Il; his parents JC and Joyce Coogan and sister Claire in 
death.  Caleb was a well-rounded young man, an inveterate tinkerer 
specializing in farm tractors big and small. He treated animals as 
equals, his dog Odie enjoying parts of the same meal Caleb would 
behaving.  He possessed the work ethic and most of the skills of an 
adult, having mastered operation of construction equipment by the 
time he could reach the pedals, and was not afraid of manual labor 
either, often for no more payment than lunch. He could count as his 
friends some of the top "old-school" thinkers of the area and always 
ready to help out, used their mentoring to great advantage.  He was 
blind to age in his choice of friends, to the point of commenting 
once how he might like to have a slumber party, but feared some of 
his guests would not be able to get back up off the floor. Caleb led 
with kindness and equality in all his interactions and in this 
displayed maturity far beyond his years. He leaves behind an 
unfillable void in his passing. Services for Caleb will be 10:00 
A.M. Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church in Mt. 
Pulaski, IL with Rev. Jonathan Buescher officiating. Visitation will 
be from 3:00-7:00 P.M. Monday, September 11, 2017 at the Family Life 
Center in Mt. Pulaski, IL.  Burial at Steenbergen Cemetery will 
follow the service. Memorials may be made in Caleb Coogan's name for

JUDITH ANN COOGAN (1942 - 2018) - Mt. Pulaski, IL — Judith Ann 
Coogan, 75, of Mt. Pulaski passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 
Country Lane Memory Care in Riverton, IL.  Judith was born on 
December 14, 1942 in Bloomington, IL the daughter of Cecil and 
Dorothy (Goetsch) Mardis. She married James Henry "Jim Boy" Coogan 
on July 10, 1965 in Lincoln, IL. He survives in Mt. Pulaski. Judith 
is also survived by her children, J.C. (Joyce) Coogan of Mt. 
Pulaski, and Teena (Doug) Lowery of Mt. Pulaski; her brother, 
Clarence Mardis of Mt. Pulaski; her grandchildren, Cady Lowery, 
Michael Lowery, and Claire Coogan.  She was preceded in death by 
her parents; and her grandson, Caleb Coogan.  Services for Judith 
will be held at 11:00a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Fricke-
Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski, IL, with Rev. 
Jonathan Buescher officiating. Visitation will take place two hours 
prior to the service (9:00-11:00a.m.) also at the funeral home. 
Burial will follow the services at Steenbergen Cemetery in Mt. 
Pulaski, IL. Memorial donations may be made in Judith's name to 
Zion Lutheran School. [photo]

Latham, Ill. - Steven M. Coogan, 72, of Latham, passed away on 
Friday, February 26, 2021, at his home. Funeral Arrangements are 
pending at the Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln.
