"JACK" COOGAN JR (1936 - 2018) - John T. "Jack" Coogan Jr., 81, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, at the Hospice Alliance Hospice House. He was born on Oct. 14, 1936, to the late John T. and Thelma (Johnson) Coogan Sr. in Watertown, Wis. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School. He went to GTI and graduated with an Associate's Degree. He entered the U.S. Marines on March 12, 1957 and was honorably discharged on March 11, 1963. On May 7, 1966 he married Marilyn C. Smith at St. George Catholic Church. Jack worked as a pipefitter for AMC/Chrysler for 41 years, retiring in 2001. Jack was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of Local UAW #72. Jack enjoyed reading, fishing, woodworking, was a handyman and a jack of all trades. He was also an avid Brewer and Packer fan. Jack is survived by his loving wife Marilyn of 51 years, his children Michelle Coogan of Kenosha, Craig Coogan of Kenosha, William (Vanessa) Coogan of West Virginia, Mary Coogan of Kenosha and Ronald Coogan of Waukegan; his grandchildren, Destiny "DJ", Zach and Selena, his great granddaughter Rosalina and his siblings Jean Dooley of Skokie, Cathy Schwaiger of Kenosha, Ellie (Dan) Ruffalo of Kenosha and Claudia (Barry) Beacom of Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Allen. A Mass of Christian Burial for Jack will be held on Saturday, March 3, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church (corner of 39th Ave. and 73rd St.). Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. [photo] 09 SEP 2019 LOUIS COOGAN (September 11, 1932 - July 29, 2019) - Louis Coogan, 86, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Froedert South in Kenosha. He was born in Mineral Point on Sept. 11, 1932, but was a lifelong resident of Kenosha. He worked at American Motors until purchasing Coogan's Bluff tavern and later retired doing lawn service. He graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1950, where he was Class President, Student Council President and Captain of the football team. He attended Platteville College on a football scholarship. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1952 and was trained for top secret crypto and teletype operations. As a Staff Sergeant, he received the National Medal of Honor and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the Kenosha Tavern League, Legion of American Veterans and the American Legion. He loved the shake of the day, betting on pools and most of all his "Kenosha Family". A celebration of Louie's life will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, where friends and family are invited to a memorial Mass at 3 p.m. at OUR LADY OF THE HOLY ROSARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2224 45th Street, Kenosha and celebration at Cheers, 4619 8th Avenue.
