He has been confined in the Childs' hospital in Albany, suffering from hip trouble for the last two years. Friday last he was stricken with brain disease at which time he was removed to the home of his parents. Despite the care of loving hands who did everything that might aid the little sufferer, the end came about 12 o'clock Thursday night. Besides his father and mother, he is survived by two sisters, Margaret and Elizabeth, also two brothers, James and William, all of this city. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the house. Interment in St. Mary's cemetery. 18 NOV 1907 - "Obituary" [PAGE 8] ABRAHAM COOGAN - Word has been received by Mrs. Abraham Coogan, of No. 24 Reid street, announcing the death of her husband in Ireland. Mr. Coogan left his home in this city last April and journeyed to Ireland to look after the settling up of an estate left by his brother, Jas. Coogan. In the last letter received from Mr. Coogan, he stated that he was enjoying good health. He was 41 years of age and had lived in this city for 26 years. During seventeen years of that time he had been employed by the Sanford carpet mills. Besides his wife he is survived by a son, William A. Coogan, two daughters, Mrs. Michael R. Cregg and Elizabeth Coogan, a step-son, James Butler, all of this city; two brothers, Edward Coogan, of Brooklyn, and Timothy of Ireland; and one sister, Elizabeth, also of Ireland. Mrs. Coogan is awaiting the arrival of a letter from Ireland which will give the particulars of her husband's death. Until this letter is received, nothing in regard to the funeral and interment can be decided upon. 29 NOV 1907 - [PAGE 10 ?] ILL FOR FIVE DAYS - In a letter received from Ireland, Mrs. Abraham Coogan of Reid street has obtained the first particulars of her husband's death in that country. Mr. Coogan left Amsterdam last spring for Ireland with the intention of settling up his brother's estate. He was taken ill of pneumonia on November 10 and died five days later. The interment was made in Ireland. 15 MAR 1932 - [PAGE 3] MRS. MARY COOGAN - Mrs. Mary Coogan died this morning, at 7:30 o'clock, at her home, 95 Division street, after an illness of four weeks, death being due to complication of diseases. Mrs. Coogan was born in Rome, N.Y., and came to this city in girlhood, Amsterdam having been her home since. A woman of generous impulses and fine Christian character, she enjoyed the love and esteem of all who knew her. She was a devout member of St. Mary's church and also a member of the Rosary society of that church. The survivors are one son, William J. Coogan, two daughters, Mrs. Michael Cregg and Mrs. Elizabeth Sauder, all of Amsterdam, three grandchildren, five nieces and two nephews.
