He was born in Patton June 3, 1903, a son of Lambert and Lucy (Krull) Coogan, and was a bricklayer by trade. He served in the army in this country during World war II. Mr. Coogan was a member of St. Mark's Catholic church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Loretta McClure of the city; two grandchildren, his father, one sister and two brothers, Mrs. Mary Ripple, James and Joseph Coogan, all of the city. COOGAN - Of Greenwood, died at 7:30 o'clock last evening in Mercy hospital where he was admitted on Thursday after an extended illness. He was born in Clearfield county Aug. 19, 1863, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Coogan, and was a retired farmer. Mr. Coogan was a member of St. Mark's Catholic church and the Holy Name society. His wife, Mrs. Lucy (Krull) Coogan, died in 1931. Surviving are two sons and one daughter, James, Joseph and Mrs. Mary Ripple, all of the city; six grandchildren and 10 great-grand- children. Mrs. Coogan was employed as a nurse at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. She was born Oct. 1, 1932, in Altoona, the daughter of Roy and Rosa (Schillig) Coleman. He was born March 1, 1898, in Clearfield Township, the son of Lambert H. and Lucy (Krull) Coogan, and married Agnes Skipper, who preceded him in death. Surviving are three daughters; Helen Sled of San Jose, Calif.; Betty Forshey, at home; and Sandra Beck of Tipton; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Mary Ripple of Altoona. Mr. Coogan was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Juniata. He was also a member of the International Association of Machinists Union. Mr. Coogan was an Army veteran of World War I. Mrs. Coogan was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. She retired from the stores department from Conrail in 1977, following 34 years of service. Mrs. Coogan was a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul and a member of the National Association of Railroad Business Women.
