The elder Coogan died three years after the will was executed. The late G. W. E. Dorsey, former congressman from this district, and Jacob Joss, another early settler of Fremont, were witnesses to Mr. Coogan's signature. The homestead of the elder Coogan was left to his son, James, in the will. James has since made a will bequeathing the land to his wife, whom he married three years ago while on a visit to Ireland."
