Coogan ______________________________________________________________________ (extracted from "Oakland Tribune" [CA], 24 MAY 1921, PAGE 14): ATTORNEY COOGAN IS DEAD AFTER BRIEF ILLNESS Was Rated Authority on Law Connected with Fire Insurance Business T. C. Coogan, San Francisco insurance lawyer and clubman, died early this morning at Merritt hospital following a brief illness. He was stricken suddenly at his home, 748 Oakland avenue, Sunday night and was immediately rushed to Merritt hospital where he sank rapidly until his death this morning. Coogan was a member of the Diablo Country Club, a member and organizer of the Claremont Country Club and a member of the Commercial Club of San Francisco. He was born in Connecticut in 1848. After graduating from the Harvard Law School he was elected to the State Legislature of Connecticut, where he served two terms. He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Mary Coogan, and a son A. J. Coogan of Alameda, and three daughters, all of Oakland, Mrs. Malcolm Campbell, Mrs. J. J. Donovan and Mrs. Robert Campbell.
