Obituary of Kathleen Ann 'Kay' Coogan

KATHLEEN ANN 'KAY' COOGAN

COOGAN, Kathleen Ann "Kay" age 86, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 
2012. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael J. 
Coogan and parents: Martin and Mabel Synnett. She is survived by her 
daughters: Kathy Coogan, Maureen Coogan, Peggy Gidjunis and Colleen 
Coogan; sons: Michael (Margaret) Coogan and Patrick Coogan; grand-
daughters: Allison and Jessica Gidjunis and Anna Coogan; sister-in-law, 
Julia Stegeman and numerous nieces and nephews that are left to cherish 
her memory. Kay was a graduate of Julienne High School, College of 
Mount St. Joseph and Good Samaritan School of Nursing. She retired as a 
Registered Nurse and the United States Post Office. Kay volunteered at 
the former St. Joseph Children's Home and Hospice of Dayton; she was a 
member of Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and was a devout Catholic. 
She will be remembered for her quick wits and sense of humor. Kay was a 
loving mother, grandmother and aunt and will be dearly missed by all.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 14th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at 
Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave, Dayton. Mass of Christian 
Burial 9:30 a.m., Saturday, December 15th at St. Joseph Church, 411 E. 
2nd Street, Dayton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be
