Coogan, 77, Nokomis, died Oct. 30, 2001. He was born Oct. 26, 1924, at Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y., and came to Nokomis 11 years ago from Crompond, N.Y. He was regional director of sales of Mutual of Omaha Insurance Co. and was a Merchant Marine during World War II. He was director of Opera Log for Venice Opera Guild, youth activity chairman for Venice Elks Lodge 1854, and a member of Knights of Columbus and Epiphany Cathedral. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Suzanne; daughters Louise of Mount Kisco, N.Y., and Gisele Boriolo of San Francisco; sons Michael of Somers, N.Y., and Ed of Gainesville; a sister, Loretta Hausley of Lady Lake; a brother, James of Newburgh, N.Y.; and four grandchildren. A Mass will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Epiphany Cathedral. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 2100 S.
