Obituary of Jackie Jay Coogan
(extracted from "Rockford Register" [IL], 16 FEB 2002, PAGE 8A):


ROCKFORD - Jackie J. Coogan, 51, of Rockford died at 7:52 p.m. 
Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, in SwedishAmerican Hospital after a 
short illness. Born Sept. 12, 1950, in Rapid City, S.D., the son 
of James and Velma Munson Coogan. Our hearts were broken today 
because we lost our "Little Irishman." He left behind and was 
the proud father of Michelle (Eric) Rueckl, Jason (Sabrina) 
Coogan, Sarah (Chris Wilder) Coogan and Jesse Coogan: proud 
grandfather of Aidan, Cullan, Delaney, Taevien and Alexis and
stepgrandchildren, Amanda and Jordan. Always by his side were 
his brothers, Larry (Barb) Coogan, Gene (Diane) Coogan and 
Patrick Coogan. Dad also was very lucky to have his own special 
angel to help him along his way. "Thank you, Aunt Helen." He was 
predeceased by parents, James and Velma Coogan and son, Eric 
Coogan. Jackie's family also wants to thank all of the caring 
staff in ICU at SwedishAmerican Hospital when our tender touch 
couldn't be there to comfort him, yours was.

A prayer service will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, in 
Fitzgerald & Associates Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. 
Rockton Ave., with visitation from 5:30 p.m. to service time. 
Burial at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, in St. Paul Cemetery, Mineral 
Point, Wis. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family. 2-16-2
