COOGAN DEAD WINDSOR LOCKS, Ct., July 7 - James T. Coogan, who recently died at his home in town at the age of seventy-eight years, was one of the town's oldest and best known citizens. He was born in Lee, Mass., and came here when a boy with his parents. In 1884 he was appointed postmaster by President Cleveland. In 1890, with H. W. Pusey, he went into partnership in the management of the Whittlesey paper mill, which they operated a few years and in 1897 he took an interest in the Anchor paper mills and was general manager of the plant for several years until the mill was sold out to another company which operated it until the mill was destroyed by fire about four years ago. He then retired from active business. He was president of the Windsor Locks Water Company, a director in the Windsor Locks Trust and Safe Deposit Company and had been connected with many other activities. http://books.google.com ___________________________________________________________________
