Obituary of James J. Coogan

JAMES J. COOGAN 

James J. Coogan, 81, of 1 Ravensdale Road, Hastings-on-Hudson, 
died Sunday at the Dobbs Ferry Hospital after a brief illness.  

He was born Aug. 21, 1886, to James P. and Ellen (McDonnell) 
Coogan in Hastings-on-Hudson, where he attended public schools.  

Mr. Coogan was attendance officer for the Hastings public schools 
for 35 years, and retired in 1957.  He was a communicant of St. 
Matthew's Roman Catholic Church in Hastings-on-Hudson.  

Surviving are one daughter, Miss Eileen Coogan of New York City;
one sister, Miss Lucy of the home address; three nieces and six
nephews.

JAMES J. COOGAN

James J. Coogan of 1 Ravensdale Rd., Hastings, died at the age
of 81 at Dobbs Ferry Hospital after a brief illness.

A native of Hastings, Mr. Coogan attended school there and later
was attendance officer for the Hastings public schools for 35
years until his retirement in 1957.

A Requiem Mass was said yesterday at St. Matthew's R. C. Church,
where he was a communicant.

He is survived by his daughter, Miss Eileen Coogan of New York
City; his sister, Miss Lucy Coogan of the home address; and 
several nieces and nephews.
