Obituary of Helen J. Coogan

HELEN J. COOGAN - Helen J. (nee Cox) Coogan, age 70, of the City of
Tonawanda, Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Buffalo General Hospital.  Born
in St. Catharines, Ontario, she had been a resident of Tonawanda for
more than 40 years, and was the sister of the late Herbert and James
Beverly Cox.  Helen had been employed as an Elementary School Teacher
in St. Catharines Catholic School System for 17 years until 1975. She
also worked for the Erie County Department of Social Services for 10
years, retiring in 2000.  She was a member of St. Andrew's R.C. 
Church.  She is survived by her husband of 46 years, James A. Coogan;
three children, Douglas J. Coogan of St. Petersburg, FL, Kathy M.
Coogan of Tonawanda and Gregory A. (Angela) Coogan of the Town of
Tonawanda; a granddaughter, Mary Clare Coogan; and sister, Dorothea
Ives of St. Catharines, Ont.  Friends may call Thursday evening from
7-9 PM and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at John O. Roth Funeral Home,
Inc., 135 William St. (between Morgan and Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:15 AM in
St. Andrew's R.C. Church, 1525 Sheridan Drive in the Town of 
Tonawanda.  The Rev. Roy Herberger will officiate.  Friends invited.
Please assemble at the church.  Entombment will be in Mt. Olivet
Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney
