Doris (Marie Theresa Doris Loiselle) Coogan, 87, a thirty-five year resident of Clearwater, FL, went home to be with Our Lord on Thursday, January 2nd, 2014, at Suncoast Hospice Care Center in Pinellas Park. Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on September 23, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Ismael Loiselle and Alice (St. Laurent) Loiselle. She was the devoted wife of the late Charles Edward Coogan Sr. for 64 years and raised her family in Little Ferry, New Jersey. Doris worked for Eastern Airlines in New York City and Tampa, FL in reservations for 20 years, retiring in 1988. Mrs. Coogan was a devoted member of Light of Christ Catholic Church in Clearwater. For many years she was a member of the Good Samaritans, prayer ministry, and volunteer in the gift shop and CCD program. She was also a member of the CAP Civil Air Patrol and soloed in a piper cub in her late teens. Doris also enjoyed gardening, ceramics, knitting, crocheting, travel and being with her family. Doris is survived by her five loving children: Marie Mikuliza of Clearwater FL, Eileen Groncki and her husband Bruce of Franklin MA, Kathleen Ciani and her husband Paul of Fort Mill SC, Ann Garvey and her husband Thomas of Palmetto FL, and Charles Edward Coogan JR and his wife Diana of Safety Harbor. She is also survived by eleven grand- children and fourteen great-grandchildren with her fifteenth due in May. Mrs. Coogan was the sister of Estelle Gagnon of Chicopee, MA and the late Aline Taggart; brother of Norman Loiselle of New York, and the late Col. Raymond Loiselle and the late Roger Loiselle. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Mass Wednesday, January 8th at 10AM at Light of Christ Catholic Church, 2176 Marilyn Street, Clearwater, Florida. The Interment will take place at a later date. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760.
