Coogan, 67, of 7052 East Edgemont St., formerly of Worcester, Mass., a retired Air Force colonel, was stricken ill and died May 15 at home. He leaves his wife, Patricia (Hunsaker) Coogan; a son, Daniel Coogan, both of Tucson; his mother, Pauline (Wright) Coogan of Worcester; a brother, Owen C. Coogan of Leicester, Mass.; a sister, Mary C. Morway of Oxford, Mass.; three grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; nephews and nieces. His daughter, Gail of Virginia Beach, Va., died June 2. He was born in Worcester, son of Owen Coogan. He graduated from St. Peter's High School and Holy Cross College, both in Worcester. Mr. Coogan served in the Air Force for 22 years, retiring as a colonel in 1977. He was a veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War eras, including duty in Antarctica. A funeral service was held May 22 in East Lawn Palms Mortuary Chapel, 5801 East Grant Road. A military burial was in East Lawn Palms Cemetery. A memorial Mass was held June 8 in St. Peter's Church in Worcester. ___________________________________________________________________
