Obituary of Agnes (Doorty) Coogan

AGNES COOGAN
LaGrangeville, NY

Agnes Coogan, 81, a ten year resident of LaGrangeville and 
formerly of Flushing, Queens, died on Saturday, November 25th at 
Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.  In 1990, she 
retired from the Management Information Systems Department at 
Macy's in Manhattan after 20 years of service.  She was a member
of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction.

Born in Bristol, CT on February 11, 1925, Agnes was the daughter
of the late Austin and Frances Cusick Doorty.  She graduated from
Bishop McDonald High School in Brooklyn.  On April 16, 1944, she
married James J. Coogan at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Corona,
Queens.  Mr. Coogan survives at home.

Other survivors include her son Kevin Coogan and his wife Susan
of Cheshire, CT; son Barry Coogan and his wife Carol of Middle
Village, NY; daughter Robin Laurita and her husband Dominic of
LaGrangeville; daughter Barbara DiTrolio and her husband Dino of
Old Tappan, NJ; her sisters-in-law, Rita Doorty and Joan Doorty
of Long Island; her eleven grandchildren, Kathleen, Danny, 
Jennifer, Jeff, Kelly, Patricia, Catherine, Dominic, Lauren,
Amanda and Kaitlin; her five great-grandchildren, Jake, Emma,
Conner, Kevin and Abby; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-
nieces and great-nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at
the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on
Tuesday at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction.
Interment will follow at St. Denis Cemetery.
