Jan. 5. - Michael Coogan of Harrison and a young man from Montclair, whose name could not be learned, fell through the ice on the Morris Canal yesterday afternoon while skating, and narrowly escaped drowning. Coogan, who can swim, pushed a large cake of ice to his companion, who clung to it until they could both be pulled out of the water.
