COOGAN story

Thomas Coogan of Jersey City, having negotiated with Patrick Nugent
for the sale of liquor and cigars, transported a load of liquor
from property which Nugent rented on the west side of [the city].
As he was carting away a second load, however, [New York City 
Police] arrested Coogan on information given by Nugent's employer,
who had provided Nugent with $1,600 worth of liquor supplies and a
saloon as a reward for loyal service to the employer's firm. Coogan
spent the night in jail at the 15th Precinct.
