Dominick Coogan of Port Ewen died from injuries received when struck by an auto driven by Mr. Spinneweber, while being conveyed to the Kingston City Hospital shortly after 6 o'clock Thursday evening. Mr. Coogan was employed at the American Grenade Loading plant in Port Ewen. He had been riding in a wagon on his way home from work and as he jumped from the wagon to walk to his home he was struck by the automobile. Mr. Spinneweber immediately stopped the car and Coogan was placed in it and a hurried trip was made to the office of Dr. Ross, but the physician was out on a call and it was decided to bring Coogan to the Kingston City Hospital. Coogan died on the way to the hospital and the body was turned over to Undertaker N. D. J. Murphy. Mr. Spinneweber runs an auto bus line between the Grenade plant and the Sleightsburgh ferry. At the time he was conveying Edward Cashin, Curtis R. Shurter and Edward Davis, inspectors at the plant, to the ferry. The accident happened near the Port Ewen cemetery. ____________________________________________________________________
