Research:

This is the family of Nicholas Coogan.  He was born in Ireland and 
emigrated to the US in the mid Nineteenth Century.  For many years
he lived with his family in Ulster County.  Later, the family
moved into nearby Sullivan County.

There is a chance that members of this group moved to the New
York City area and settled in Brooklyn or Queens.

This family has also been found as KEOGAN, KUGAN, COGAN and CUGAN.
