Research:

This is the family of Michael Coogan. He was born in Ireland and
lived in County Kilkenny.  

Michael's son, Patrick Coogan, emigrated to Australia in the mid 
Nineteenth Century and settled in the vicinity of Melbourne,
Victoria.  It is likely that he had an older brother, Thomas 
Coogan, who lived near him.  Both men had sons named Michael, 
complicating the framework of relationships in this group. Check
back for updates!

The family was connected with Geelong and Lara, where some 
descendants still live today. One descendant of this group, 
Nicholas Coogan, moved to Queensland.

There is probably connection between this family and the other
Coogan families from the area near Uskerty.
